     United for Israel’s soldiers


    (Registered Non-Profit Organization No. 580033496) was established in 1980, an initiative by then Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, the late Mr. Menachem Begin.

    Menachem Begin regarded education as being of the utmost importance and value,

    and thus launched The Libi Fund, even deciding upon the name.

    Mr. Begin brought then Army Chief of Staff, the late General Rafael Eitan on board, fully believing in the IDF’s capability to further the subject of education, in line with David Ben-Gurion’s vision of the IDF as also serving as an educational and pioneering center for Israeli youth.


    "The united for israel's soldiers ", a non-profit organization is run by a group of dedicated volunteers, also headed by a volunteer chairman as well,
    who is appointed by the Prime Minister of Israel.

    As from 2014, General (Res.) Yoram Yair ("Yaya") serves as the chairman of The United for Israel’s soldiers

    Brigadier-General (Res.) Yehiel Gozal is the CEO of United for Israel’s soldiers .

    The United for Israel’s soldiers  raises donations in Israel and abroad for various projects of the Israeli Army,
    for the benefit of the soldiers of the IDF, in the fields of education, welfare and Jewish heritage.

    United for Israel’s soldiers also gives assistance in many ways to Lone and Immigrant soldiers, in accordance with Army regulations and its needs.
    The United for Israel’s soldiers  operates as per the IDF’S code of values, at minimum costs and with complete transparency;

    Its aim being to strengthen education in the IDF, and to constitute a bridge linking the Israeli Army with Israeli society
    and with the Jewish people of the diaspora. 100% of donations received are utilized in full for the benefit of the IDF’s soldiers,
    no costs are deducted.

    The operating costs of United for Israel’s soldiers  are financed by the Israeli Ministry of Defense.

    The United for Israel’s soldiers  employs a small group of professional workers who carry out their
    functions with the utmost dedication and belief in Libi’s objectives.

    General (Res.) Yoram Yair (“ Ya-Ya”) - Chairman of The United for Israel’s soldiers  Army service:
    Commander of the Paratroopers Brigade, Commander of 3 Infantry and armored divisions.
    Head of Battalion Commander’s course and Commander of Galil, Commander of Northern Command Head of Manpower Division of General Staff.
    Last duty, served as Israel’s military attache in the USA.
    General Yair is also a co- author of “ The Spirit of the IDF” , formulating the code of ethics of the IDF.

    Post army public service: Chairperson (volunteer) of various public institutions-
    Board of Haddassa Neurim Youth Village; Drug Rehabilitation Villages Ilanot & Hartov;
    Non-profit institution “Follow me ! Youth for change”; and others.
    General Yair holds degrees in business administration and psychology, and also serves as chairman of the
    RL.P Rabin Leadership Program, International School, Herzlia.
    As from 2014 General Yair serves as chairman of The United for Israel’s soldiers  and from 2015 serves as chairman of the Association for the Wellbeing of Israel’s Soldiers, (AWIS).


    Brigadier-General (Res.) Yehiel Gozal – CEO of The United for Israel’s soldiers  Volunteered to join the Paratroopers Battalion 890 and served in the IDF for 27 years.
    During his distinguished military career he took various commanding roles among them
    the Commander of the Paratroopers battalion and the head of the Armor Brigade.
    Brig. Gen. Gozal fought in Judah & Samaria as well as in Southern Lebanon,
    where he was wounded twice during the "Peace of the Galilee" war in 1982.
    Despite his injuries he continued to fight and was honored with a citation for his bravery under fire.  His last duty was Chief of the Southern Command Staff.
    After that he served as the Israeli Defense Attaché in Paris. After many years of service he retired  2003 and was appointed National Director of the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces in the U.S. (FIDF).

    General Gozal is currently the CEO of the United for Israel’s soldiers  and the Chairman of the “Paratroops’ Heritage Association” in Israel.

    Brig. Gen. Gozal has a BA in Economics and Business Administration from the Bar-Ilan University,
    and an MA in Political Science & National Security from Haifa University and the Israeli National Defense College.  

    Executive Committee of The United for Israel’s soldiers The Executive Committee of United for Israel’s soldiers consists of 21 members, men and women, who all serve on a strictly volunteering basis.
    The Head of the Executive Committee is General (Res.) Yoram Yair – “Yaya”.

    The Executive Committee constitutes the sovereign legal authority regarding the organization’s operations and resolutions, and its members are involved in the day-to-day operations of the organization.
