About 80 "Friends of Libi" of the Los Angeles Iranian Jewish community held a parlor meeting at the home of Mr. Abe Shofet, with the participation of Lt. Col. Dr. Eric Setton (Chief Liaison Officer of The Libi Fund with overseas donors) and of Col. (res.) Moshe Elad (who has assisted The Libi Fund in its fund-raising efforts for many years on a strictly volunteering basis).

Lt. Col. Dr. Setton gave details of the latest projects of The Libi Fund in the fields of education and medical treatment, for the benefit of the soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces.

Col. (res.) Elad added information about the general objectives, organization and activities of The Libi Fund.

A sum of about $40,000 was raised for The Libi Fund at this parlor meeting, evidencing the deep concern and support of the Iranian Jewish community in Los Angeles for the soldiers of the IDF.

Further parlor meetings to raise monies for The Libi Fund for the benefit of the soldiers of the IDF will be held in view of the positive and enthusiastic response of the Los Angeles Iranian Jewish Community.
